There are a large group of Dads who are faithful and protective of their family.  The positive perception of fatherhood it is a reality for these men.

Single dads are fathers who raise their children alone, without a partner. They face many of the same challenges and joys of parenting as other parents, but may have additional responsibilities due to being the sole caregiver. The number of single fathers has been growing

Step fathers are an increasing phenomena.  It’s commendable that men would want to look after children belonging to the partner as if they were his own.  The path is often not smooth though.

All men can become father figures to young persons in their community.  Men without children can still be father figures to nephews, nieces, cousins and children of friends.  In addition, fathers tend to find that their children’s friends look up to them with admiration (or otherwise)
